EVENTS

FALL FAMILY FUN DAY & WALK

Our most important event of the year is a day set aside for loads of family fun. DSACK’s Fall Family Fun Day and Walk is a carnival-like event complete with games for all ages, kid-friendly activities, inflatables, food and so much more. Not to mention … at the beginning of the day is our 1-mile fundraising walk that brings together more than 2,000 people to celebrate and ensure that DSACK continues to serve families, schools and communities. NOTHING DOWN ABOUT IT GALA

Each year, we come together for a night of glitz and glam, as well as to celebrate all that DSACK has to offer throughout the year. The evening includes cocktails and dinner, a live and silent auction, music and dancing and, new this year, an after-Gala party. Click here for more information.

PROGRAMS

Coffee Chat

Come enjoy some coffee and food and get to know other DSACK families during one of our periodic Coffee Chats. You will also have the opportunity to hear a speaker on a variety of topics related to Down syndrome. Contact DSACK at 859-494-7809 or dsack.org@gmail.com for additional information.

We Work!

The mission of our We Work! Career Planning Initiative is to empower individuals with Down syndrome to utilize their strengths and abilities in a meaningful place of employment in their area of interest, earning a prevailing wage and contributing to their community.  This program provides support and resources for job seekers with Down syndrome as well as for employers, thereby ensuring teens and adults with Down syndrome become productive members of their community.  By establishing high expectations and standards within our program, we will create a positive change in the way employers view people with disabilities.  A new session begins in the fall. For more information contact DSACK at 859-494-7809 or dsack.org@gmail.com.

Healthy Movement

Let’s get moving! DSACK is happy to partner with Allegro Dance Project to offer Healthy Movement Dance Classes. Join us as we incorporate physical activity with music and guest instrumentalists each week.  UK physical therapy students will assist our students during classes.  All classes will be held in our Learning Center, and parents can wait upstairs in our office space during class. Contact DSACK at 859-494-7809 or dsack.org@gmail.com for more information.
